Vocabulary is very important area to develop if you want to achieve high score of IELTS. This is because the range of your vocabulary proficiency will be assessed in both writing and speaking test. Good vocabulary proficiency also will be very helpful in doing your reading and listening test. There are many activities and exercise that can help to develop your vocabulary. Here it is:

1. Knowing and understanding AWL - Academic Word Lists rather than all of words in dictionary because AWL is a list of words that highly likely come up in academic context. You can get AWL from the link in this site.

2. Noticing nice vocabulary and also the collocations in reading or other high quality article. Write them in a special pocket book that is easy to bring.Then, use them regularly in your writing exercise and speaking practices.

3.  Put Notice board in place in your house that is easy to see. Always write down new vocabulary you get on notice board and read as many as you can.
